Mike
Rayburn-- Billed as the world's funniest
guitar virtuoso, Mike is one of the most entertaining shows we offer, due to
his diverse array of very polished talent. First, he's really funny - the
stories behind (and sometimes described in) many of his songs are
hilarious. And he does outrageous takes on popular songs (ZZ Top does Dan
Fogelberg, etc.) Second, he's a pretty darn good singer-songwriter.
His originals are well-crafted, and he's got a smooth, pleasant voice.
Third, Mike's an extraordinary guitarist. You will be amazed!
Classically trained with a master's, Rayburn has transferred his skills to the
steel six string guitar (notably his arrangement of
Pachelbel's Canon). His shows include numerous 'tap' style
pieces, where both hands are up on the neck of the instrument, creating an
extraordinary sound not unlike that of the late Michael Hedges.
Rayburn has performed throughout the U.S., including Carnegie Hall.
